Alex N. BAHIZI  Rwandan

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Bio:
Alex is the Chief Executive Officer of BK General Insurance. He is responsible for the development of strategy, strategy implementation, management and overall performance of the company. He coordinates the operations of various company functions, establish and maintain efficient and adequate internal control systems. He has the duty to design and implement necessary management information systems in order to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness in the company’s operations.

Alex started the taste of insurance industry while in (CSR) now Rwanda Social Security Board where he was a key member of the reform team in charge of modernizing the Social Security industry. He later joined Bank of Kigali in 2010 as a Legal Services Manager. His competencies and unwavering commitment saw him promoted to head the departments of Legal Services and Recoveries in January 2014, a position he held until August 2016 when he was again entrusted with a great challenge of becoming the Chief Executive Officer of BK General Insurance. Prior to joining Bank of Kigali, Alex was the Head of Internal Affairs/Quality Assurance and at the same time, a State Attorney in the National Social Security Fund. As a practicing Lawyer, he was a member of the Kigali Bar Association and a Member of the East African Law Society.

Trained in both Civil Law and Common Law Legal Families, Alex commands authority in major areas of laws related to Insurance Industry among them, Insurance Laws, Corporate Governance, Commercial Transactions, Banking Laws, Comparative Company Law, Contractual Obligations, Shareholder Rights, Alternative Dispute Resolution approaches, Civil Procedure and Litigation Services Management.

Alex holds a Bachelor’s of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Rwanda (NUR), a Master’s of Laws (LLM) majoring in International Commercial Law from The Robert Gordon University - United Kingdom and has completed an MBA – Strategic Management at Mount Kenya University. He holds a Certificate of Arbitration from the London Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CIARB).

Agnes MBABAZI  Rwandan

Position: Administration & Procurement Manger

Bio:
Miss Agnes is the Administration & Procurement Manager at BK General Insurance Company Ltd. She had worked with Rwanda Revenue Authority for more than 3years. She had also worked with Banque Populaire du Rwanda for a period of 4years

Miss Agnes holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from School Of Finance and Banking.

Alfa Winnie Sano  Rwandan

Position: Marketing & Public Relations Manger

Bio:
Miss Winnie is the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at BK General Insurance. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge spanning over 10 years of corporate experience in the telecoms and banking sectors. Before joining BK General Insurance, Winnie served as corporate sales manager for Airtel Rwanda and earlier with KCB Bank Rwanda. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and certificates from training in telecoms and banking gained over time.

Alphonsine BUKURU  Rwandan

Position: Human Resources Manager

Bio:
Alphonsine BUKURU is Human Resources Manager at Bank General Insurance Company Ltd She has experience in Human Resource where she worked with Real Contractors ltd for more than 10 years.

Alphonsine holds a bachelor’s degree in Administrative Sciences from Independent University of Kigali and she is Pursuing Master’s Business Administration with Kigali Independent University.

Mr. KATABARWA Andre  Rwandan

Position: IT Manager

Bio:
A Rwandan by Nationality holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology. He joined BK General Insurance in September 2016. He has 7 years working experience, three of them in GSM Telecommunications systems working first as Network Operations Center Engineer and then as Business Intelligence& Software Developer in MTN RWANDA. He has been working in Insurance industry since September 2013 in SONARWA LIFE as Head of Information Technology in September, 2013. He has experience in software systems management and IT Systems Administration.

Consolate TUMUSIIME  Rwandan

Position: Reinsurance Manager

Bio:
Mrs. Consolate TUMUSIIME is the Reinsurance Manager of BK General Insurance. She has been with the Company since April 2016. She formerly served as a Reinsurance Officer in SONARWA and has over 5 years working experience in the insurance industry. Consolate holds a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration specializing in Finance from the School Of Finance and Banking (SFB) and currently finalizing with her Masters degree in Strategic Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of agriculture and Technology (KIGALI).

Maurice Nzaramba  Rwandan

Position: Claims Manager

Bio:
MR. Maurice NZARAMBA is a 14 year Financial Sector Professional. He served as Chief Pensions’ Financial Analyst and Investments Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of Caisse Sociale du Rwanda (current RSSB) for 8 years. He also has an over 5 years’ experience in Senior Management Positions within the Insurance Industry.

Mr. NZARAMBA participated to different Financial Sector Restructuring Task Forces including Social Security Restructuring and Capital Market Establishment Task Forces between 2005 and 2010. Maurice NZARAMBA is an Accounting and Finance graduate of University of Rwanda, and he is finalising an MSc in Finance with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

He was also awarded in 2013, with the Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance by University of Rwanda, CBE.

Sheila A. USANASE  Rwandan

Position: Legal Manager and Company Secretary

Bio:
Ms. Sheila A. USANASE is a Legal Services Manager & Company Secretary in BK General Insurance. She holds a Masters’ Degree in Public International Law (PIL), obtained from Kigali Independent University, known as ULK in 2016.

She also worked with SONARWA General Insurance as Head of Legal Department since 2014 to 2016, Before joining the Insurance Industry, Ms. Sheila has worked at the Office of the Ombudsman – Rwanda since 2012 to 2014 in Preventing and Fighting Injustice department and later joined the Court Judgement Review department. She is a hardworking person, honest, organized with a good sense of humor.
